Sanitary Tri-Clamp® Screen Gaskets - Tuf-Steel®
All PTFE & Tuf-Steel® Gaskets w/ ?100 Mesh Screens include a 10 Mesh backing screen. Due to the flow characteristics of PTFE, this is necessary to ensure entrapment of the screen within the gasket.
Note: The following options are available as special order for these gaskets: metal detectable elastomers, special screen materials (Hastelloy, Membrane Inserts, PTFE), larger diameters, and finer meshes. Let us know your custom requirements and we will be happy to quote them for you.
Rubber Fab's Tuf-Steel® Tri-Clamp® Screen Gaskets are interchangeable with standard Tri-Clamp® Sanitary Gaskets for ease of use. These fluid filtration gaskets feature a 316L stainless steel screen, making them suitable for high purity systems. The screens are available in a variety of mesh sizes ranging from 4 Mesh up to 100 Mesh. Fluid filtration gaskets provide the most comprehensive range of stainless steel mesh and filter cloth to provide the ultimate particulate elimination for protecting fill and finish sterile products. All Rubber Fab Screen Gaskets feature Dutch Twill weave which provides for maximum strength and minimum pressure drop.
Tuf-Steel® is the material of choice when purity, long service life, performance, chemical resistance, and heat resistance are required. Tuf-Steel® Gaskets are 100% leak free when torqued correctly, and will experience minimum creep and cold flow. The Tuf-Steel® material is a unique proprietary blend of non-pigmented PTFE and 316L Stainless Steel that has been water atomized and passivated. The end result is a Tuf-Steel® Gasket that is non-stick, features no pigmentation, and has ultra-low absorption rates. These Tri-Clamp® Gaskets can maintain seal integrity under large temperature fluctuations with a serviceable temperature range from -350°F to 550°F. We recommend the use of the Torque-Rite® Clamp Nut to get the most out of these gaskets.
Tuf-Steel® is the original metal detectable gasket, the material has always been detectable with metal detectors and magnetic separators. Over 10 years of testing and documented application usage show that Tuf-Steel® is the choice for perfect surface performance, outstanding durability, extended service life and increased up-time for both SIP (steam in place) and WFI (water for injection) applications. Tuf-Steel® Gaskets are ideal for sanitary steam and extreme temperature processes, especially fryer and hot oil applications. Unlike envelope gaskets, the superior strength of the Tuf-Steel® blend will not revert, eliminating creep and cold flow, providing a leak-free seal.
