Sanitary Tri-Clamp® Perforated Plate Gaskets - PTFE
Tri-Clamp® PTFE Perforated Plate Gaskets are manufactured with a 22 Gauge 316L Stainless Steel Perforated Plate that has been flow trapped into the gasket body. These perforated hole gaskets are available standard with 0.033", 0.045", 0.062" (1/16"), 0.094" (3/32"), 0.125" (1/8"), 0.187" (3/16") and 0.250" (1/4") perforations in varying center types, please see the reference chart below for exact specifications. The center type is the center to center distance between each perforation and correlates to the holes per square inch and open area % of each gasket.
With a stringent ASME-BPE design, these filtration gaskets can be utilized for particulate removal in a number or processes and industries. Whether being used as a pre-filter for expensive membrane filters, or straining particulate in fill and finish products, these sanitary gaskets can save you from equipment wear and product contamination.
PTFE Sanitary Tri-Clamp® Gaskets are the material of choice where low temperature flexibility and hygienic seal memory are not required. We don't recommend using PTFE Sanitary Gaskets where large temperature variations frequently occur because the affect on the PTFE's density makes joints more prone to leakage. With that said we recommend using high pressure clamps to help negate the affects of any temperature fluctuations. PTFE gaskets provide excellent heat resistance, second only to Tuf-Steel®, with an operating range from -100°F to 500°F. From a chemical standpoint PTFE has good stability, almost no extractables, a low absorption rate, and excellent resistance to process fluids. These Tri-Clamp® Gaskets can remain in service for long periods of time in both water and steam applications. If a slight misalignment of the joint is observed it is recommended to instead use Rubber Fab's Tuf-Flex® Gaskets consisting of a PTFE contact surface grafted to an EPDM core.
