Rubber Fab Platinum Cured Silicone V2B Vent Vacuum Breaker gaskets are an excellent choice for use in production facilities for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, high-purity water, and food/beverage products. Silicone Sanitary Gaskets can withstand temperature extremes, radiation, corona, ozone exposure, moisture and steam. We recommend considering Silicone Gaskets when it is not feasible to use PTFE Gaskets due to severely misaligned fittings, or if the cost of high pressure clamps outweighs the benefits of PTFE (extended service life). Unlike PTFE, Silicone gaskets are very flexible at low temperatures. They are also odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and hygienic. With the ability to be autoclaved, irradiated and gas sterilize, Platinum Cured Silicone Gaskets provide you with the ultimate high purity contact surface.

The curing process of Silicone Gaskets has a direct affect on the amount and type of extractables the hygienic seal will emit. The peroxide curing process leaves residuals of Benzoic Acid (the curing additive) that results in unwanted surface conditions that can lead to product contamination. The platinum curing process eliminates this problem and minimizes reaction between the gasket and process fluids. These gasket are post cured and will not cause cell mutation or growth retardation. Our Platinum Cured Silicone Gaskets maintain and uphold ultrapure water and cGMP process fluid standards. These gaskets have been manufactured from milled gum silicone which offers superior resistance to tearing and deformation when compared to traditional liquid injection molding silicone.

Rubber Fab's V2B Vent and Vacuum Breaker system is a cost effective and incredibly simple way to provide contaminate free air flow to any tank system. The V2B Gasket is the answer for vacuum and pressure relief in pharmaceutical and food/beverage processing tank applications where airborne particulate removal is required. Using a 200 mesh screen combined with a 14 mesh screen of sintered construction, Rubber Fab has created a cost effective alternative to expensive vacuum breakers and venting systems. Because the V2B Gasket can provide unrestricted air flow with ultra fine filtration, you can feel secure in knowing the hygienic condition of the tank contents remain protected. With regular cleaning and maintenance, the V2B Gasket is a cost effective and incredibly simple way to provide contaminate free air flow to any tank system.

The V2B System is attached using a standard Sanitary Tri-Clamp® to a sanitary tank port, just like traditional vacuum breakers. You can run the V2B Vent Vacuum Breakers in vertical, horizontal, single, or multiport configurations without any special fabrication or expensive tooling. You can even increase the airflow of your system by using a to run a larger V2B gasket than your tank was designed for. The V2B Screen will fit perfectly into the ID of sanitary tubing and can be used for inflow fluid conditioning filtration as well.
