The goal of SED is the development, manufacturing, and marketing of high quality valve technology such as diaphragm and seat valves. They have also developed a comprehensive range of accessories and system components for monitoring and control applications. SED has developed these products for demanding markets and customers where a sustainable corporate strategy, continuity, and reliability play a major role.

SED was founded in 1984 and at that time laid the foundations for its product range, which still contributes significantly to the success of the company in its developed form.

After difficult years in the early 1990s SED was incorporated into a group of companies in 1993 and is a member of the Aliaxis Group today. After acquisition, it was possible to realign SED and to make pioneering investments, particularly in relation to the development, production, and sales areas. Belonging to an international group of companies, SED combines all the advantages that such a group of companies offers and has become an independent unit, characterized by flexibility, customer focus, and innovation.

The company moved to a new site in 2010. Processes were optimized and re-organized, allowing the company to meet demands and develop a strategy that has yielded a continuously profitable growth. SED Flow Control headquarters is located in the southwest of Germany in Bad Rappenau.
