Dixon Sanitary offers a wide selection of Dixon™ stainless steel butterfly valves for use in sanitary process systems. These valves are simple, rugged and above all, dependable. Dixon™ butterfly valves can be used either as a shutoff valve (on/off service) or as a throttling valve (for flow control). Pneumatic or electric actuators are available for automated control. All Dixon™ butterfly valves are assembled without silicone lubricant. Application Get control with Dixon™ series B5102 sanitary butterfly valves. The 5102 series is a patented clamp butterfly valve. This clamp valve is an incredible 1-3/8" wide on all sizes. The valve will fit into 3/4" of line space. The grooved clamp housing connects directly to clamp style fittings. Easy assembly by removing the wing nuts and using a hex key for the handle to secure and seal the housing onto your lines. If your space is limited, or you want a less expensive way to control flow, then the clamp butterfly valve is for you. Various elastomers and accessories make this a highly versatile valve. Working Principal The B5102 is actuated manually with handle or remotely by a pneumatic or electric actuator. The control capabilities of a butterfly valve can also be significantly improved by coupling it with an operator and electronic control package. The valve is fully open when the handle is parallel to the pipeline and closed when the handle is perpendicular. Pneumatic actuators are available in three versions: • Air to Open- Spring to Close (ATO/STC) • Air to Close- Spring to Open (ATC/STO) • Double Acting (ATO/ATC) Features and Benefits • Low resistance to flow • Finely profiled disc • Bi-directional flow • Gentle to media • Suitable for low and medium viscosity fluids • Quick and easy installation • All sizes use only 3/4" of line space • Use existing ferrules • No need for clamps, gaskets or welding • All wetted surfaces are 20RA or better • PTFE valve disc bushings reduce friction and increase cycle life. • 3-position reversible handle with lockout / tagout capability • Various manual or automatic operators available • 100% tested / 100% inspected • Field serviceable (no special tools required) • Self draining • Seat materials available (silicone, EPDM, FKM) • Sizes from 1" thru 4" • Can be easily modified for lockout / tagout |
